The farm area extends over 2.5 hectares, where there are large open-field enclosures dedicated to the reproduction and growth of snails, following a completely natural cycle method.

Here the vegetation necessary for snails to live is sown, recreating the habitat where they reproduce and grow under strict control, following a natural diet. Moreover, an adequate mist irrigation system maintains suitable humidity for both plants and snails.

To date, the birth and growth of the snails takes place in the breeding farm, respecting the seasons and the snails’ natural life cycle. The animals are collected manually without the aid of machinery and left to in special cages in cool and ventilated places for purging and capping.

It is nature that dictates the laws of the snails’ development and growth; man is only there to ensure that everything is done in the best possible way.

“We believe this breeding method is a guarantee of an ever better qualitative and quantitative production,” says Antonia. “One reason is that we know that the animals we raise are born, grow, and reproduce always in the same habitat.”
